Polarmore

Polarmore is new to Oxley Island Thoroughbreds and is by a champion sire, More Than Ready, out of a champion mare, Polar Success. More Than Ready has sired two winners of the Golden Slipper, which Polar Success also won in her juvenile season.

Oxley Island Thoroughbreds Polarmore

Polarmore was purchased for $500,000 as an Inglis Easter Yearling by Segenhoe Thoroughbreds. He then raced in their red colours with yellow seams with a group of owners that included Vinery Stud.

Trained by John O'Shea, he made his debut as a three-year-old, and broke his maiden status at his fourth start. Polarmore showed immense talent and a blistering turn of foot down the straight in the 1150m event at the Randwick Kensington course.

His dam, Polar Success, was a Golden Sipper winner and was sold as a broodmare in 2009 for $1.2 million. She is one of eight winners from Patou, a half sister to the dam's of Bring Me The Maid (Sebring) and Ain't Seen Nothin' (Nothin' Leica Dane).

That makes Polarmore a full brother to the city winner and Group 3 placed, Lockroy, and a half to the city winning and stakes placed, Polaway (Giant's Causeway).

Polarmore is free of Danehill blood and being by More Than Ready, is an excellent outcross to mares from that sire line.
