Taree Win Alot Like Home

Alot Like Home broke through for his first win for John McLachlan and his connections at his home track of Taree in the Saxbys Bottled Water Maiden Plate over 1250m.

Under Scott Thurlow, Alot Like Home jumped well, and was settled just in behind the leader's. As they rounded the turn Alot Like Home started to surge up on the outside running wide around the turn. He then ran clear from them down the middle of the straight to run away with his first win from just his fourth start.

Alot Like Home had three previous starts, finishing third on debut, and then running second in his next two starts.

Steven Fell feature's in the ownership of Alot Like Home and stood the gelding's sire, Home On The Grange, at his Oxley Island Thoroughbreds operation and said "it was a great thrill to have another winner at the home track."

"To see this horse win at Taree is very rewarding and for John who trains on the course to get the win here as well it is just great," Fell said.

"Home On The Grange stood here at Oxley Island and its fantastic to see he is still getting winner's and to still be involved in some is also great.

"He's been right amongst them at the finish this horse at his all four starts and we thought he might have got the break through in his last start where he finished second here but it's great he got the win today."

Alot Like Home is by Home On The Grange and is out of the Beautiful Crown mare, Crownalot. Alot Like Home is her first foal and she missed the next two seasons and now has a weanling colt by Polarmore, who currently stands at Oxley Island Thoroughbreds.
